Fife school comes out on top in finance challenge

A school from Fife has finished top of the class after winning a competition giving students the chance to sharpen their investment skills.

Madras College in St Andrews was the winner of  the Investment Challenge, a joint initiative supported by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and BNP Paribas Securities Services in partnership with the publisher of the Global Investor business simulations.

Lochgelly Business Centre Opens Doors To Stranded Workers

The closure of the Forth Road Bridge has caused chaos for thousands of workers in Fife.

Ore Valley Business Centre in Lochgelly is opening its doors to provide a free and professional working space for commuters who are struggling to travel to work.

The Business Centre, which is based in the heart of the small mining town, is offering internet access, meeting room space and kitchen facilities free of charge. All people need to bring with them is their laptop and work phone.

Jannettas Hailed Retail Business of the Year – Again!

The reputation of the best ice-cream shop in Scotland has been frozen with news of a prestigious business award.

Jannettas Gelateria, which has been operating from its original St Andrews site since 1908, has been officially named Retail Business of the Year in The Courier Business Awards, for the second year running!  Jannettas also has a Gelateria in Perth.

The award comes hot on the heels of Jannettas’ Barista Mark Edwards being hailed the ‘Best Barista in Scotland’ at the Scottish Italian Awards.
