Acclaimed Chocolate & Pastry Professional, Ruth Hinks, Partners CFW in Workshops Showcasing Premium Ingredients
Two special chocolatier & bakery workshops have been carried out by award-winning chocolatier, Ruth Hinks, at the Training Kitchen of CFW, one of the country’s premier suppliers of professional catering equipment & ingredients.
Attended by professional chocolatiers and pastry chefs, the Chocolate Workshop demonstrated leading chocolate techniques using Callebaut Chocolate, together with products from CFW, and its sister company, Sephra. Those who attended were shown how to make decadent chocolate delights devised by Ruth, a former winner of Australian Pastry Chef of the Year.
The next day, Ruth held a Baker's Workshop in the same location, showing participants how to improve their baking skills with highly creative brownies, muffins, and cookies, once again using the premium ingredients from Callebaut and Sephra that have made both brands market leaders.
Having trained with Cacao Barry in Paris, and rising to become Head Pastry Chef at The Sheraton Grand in Edinburgh, Ruth has been mentored by the very best chocolatiers and pastry chefs in the world, including Albert Roux. She currently operates the renowned Cocoa Black Chocolate and Pastry School in Peebles, in the Scottish Borders, a must visit stop-off for international pastry chefs, who add to their skills by attending Ruth’s courses. Keen home cooks can also attend these courses, with the Pastry School offering also including a popular cafe and shop.
“We were extremely privileged to have Ruth with us for two days, leading these informative training workshops for professional pastry chefs, bakers and chocolatiers to attend, to hone and improve their existing skills,” said John Laughlin, Operations Director from Sephra. “Helping to inspire the next generation of pastry chefs and chocolatiers is what we are all about here at CFW and Sephra, as well as keep them well supplied with everything they need, including the incredible range of Callebaut chocolate which is simply unbeatable.”
“I thoroughly enjoying my two workshops with CFW,” said Ruth. “The training kitchen is extremely well equipped and it was fabulous to engage with CFW customers, many of whom are running cafes, restaurants and all types of dessert & chocolate businesses.”
