Big Give Campaign to support K107FM

19th June 2025

Big Give, Global’s Make Some Noise, and NCVO have announced the launch of their inaugural Small Charity Week match funding campaign.

This seven-day online campaign, running from the 23rd – 30th of June 2025, aims to support small charities across the UK and will bring much-needed financial and training support to small charities making a big difference in their communities. Big Give, the UK’s largest match funding charity, will be hosting the campaign on its platform.

K107FM have been selected as one of 189 small charities that you can “double the difference” with for donations made during Small Charity Week

Small Charity Week celebrates the essential contributions of small charities in strengthening communities. The week creates a wealth of training, practical tools and advocacy opportunities, enhancing the resilience and profile of these ‘small-but-mighty’ organisations. Despite their impact, smaller charities are consistently unseen and underfunded, and their impact unrecognised due to their size and focus on service delivery (Centre for Social Justice, 2024). However, recent research reveals a strong public desire to support these organisations.

The funds raised through this campaign will provide small charities, like K107FM with crucial unrestricted funding, enabling them to continue tackling social challenges and transforming lives across the UK.

Big Give has a proven model for multiplying generosity, having raised over £345 million for thousands of charities since being founded in 2007. Thanks to funding raised by players of People's Postcode Lottery, public donations will be doubled throughout the campaign. This means each pound goes twice as far in empowering small charities in their mission. They are also actively engaging with a diverse range of other generous Champion funders to amplify the support and match funding available to charities participating in Small Charity Week.

Global’s Make Some Noise, the official charity of Global, the Media and Entertainment Group, has funded over 480 life-changing projects delivered by small local charities across the UK for the last 11 years, with the mission that nobody should face life’s toughest challenges alone. The charity has over a decade of experience in funding high-impact projects in the heart of communities, supporting small charities with

their longer-term sustainability through a Learning and Development offering and providing a voice to raise awareness of key issues affecting UK communities. This will bring invaluable support to the campaign, with Global’s Make Some Noise selecting and distributing the matched grants directly to small charities.

As the membership body for charities, NCVO supports thousands of small charities across the country. Through this joint initiative, NCVO will continue its work to strengthen the skills, resilience, and visibility of small charities, helping them maximise their fundraising potential and amplify their collective impact.

Jayne Smith, Chair of Kirkcaldy Community Radio SCIO (K107FM), said: “Being selected as one of just 189 small charities nationwide is a proud milestone for K107FM. This campaign is a chance to double the difference and back the local voices that keep our community connected. Tune in, stay informed—and help us continue making making an impact.”

James Reed CBE, Chair of the Trustees of Big Give, said: “Small charities are the lifeblood of communities across the UK, and we are proud to shine a spotlight on them. By harnessing the power of match funding, we can multiply the public’s generosity and provide small charities with the support and recognition they need.”

Suzanne Ryder Richardson, Director of Global Goodness, Global’s Make Some Noise, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Big Give and NCVO on Small Charity Week. The power of small charities, operating at the heart of local communities, really can’t be underestimated. We are delighted to be able to support and champion even more small charities delivering vital work across the UK. A huge thank you to the generosity of our partners, including players of People's Postcode Lottery, and everyone supporting the campaign. Together, we’re able to continue changing lives across the UK, making sure nobody is left to face life’s toughest challenges alone.”

Sarah Elliott, Chief Executive of NCVO, said: “We believe resilient charities create stronger communities, but the reality is small charities are under more pressure than ever. Costs are rising, demand is increasing and funding is falling. Our partnership with the Big Give and Global’s Make Some Noise is vital to helping Small Charity Week have an even bigger impact in 2025 - building public awareness of the issues facing charities, providing more practical resources to help staff and volunteers build their skills and increasing financial support so that organisations across the country can continue their invaluable work.”
