Business Rates: Call for Fife Chamber Members to Help Prepare Scottish Chambers’ Response
The Scottish Government’s review of Scotland’s Business Rates system is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2017. There will also be a Business Rates Revaluation in 2017. Scottish Chambers of Commerce is working on both of these areas and is looking to identify a number of expert individuals from the Chamber network to guide SCC’s approach to all aspects of Business Rates. SCC is looking for senior level individuals with a good understanding of how Business Rates work, who will either be rating professionals or business ratepayers from different business sectors.
The group will guide SCC’s approach to the Scottish Government’s Business Rates Review, including engagement with the Review Group, inform the content of all SCC written submissions and consultation responses regarding Business Rates and members of the group may have the opportunity to represent the Chamber network if called upon to give evidence to external bodies.
The first meeting of the group will take place on Thursday 4 August 2016 from 1400 until 1600.
Much of the work of the group will be conducted via email but a second meeting will be scheduled for Thursday 3 November 2016 and a third meeting on Thursday 2 February 2017.
If you are interested in being part of this group, please send your details to us at [email protected] no later than Friday 8th July 2016.
