Chamber member elected President of St Andrews Business Club

30th April 2018

Chamber member Alan S. Morrison has been elected the 62nd President of St Andrews Business Club.

Alan (54), whose business is ASM Media & PR, joined the Club in May 2014 and soon began doing pro bono PR and event photography for it. He joined the Club Committee in 2016 and in 2017 was elected Vice-President.

In that role he led a strategic review of the club’s events, processes and marketing last Summer and went on to lead the implementation of its recommendations.

The results to date have been a new record membership for the club – exceeding 100 for the first time in its 68-year history - and a large increase in attendances at its events, including a new record for one, with five more yet to be held in the 2017-18 season, which ends on June 27.

Alan was elected President for 2018-19 at the club’s AGM recently. Speaking about it, Alan said: “I’m greatly honoured to be elected to this office in a club with such a long and distinguished history.

“I’m excited about what can achieved next season with the new club Committee, most of whom contributed to the phenomenal success achieved this last year.”

Away from the club, Alan runs his own company ASM Media & PR, which he launched in April 2012 after leaving a 23-year career in journalism in 2011 and beginning in PR. He’s been a member of the Chamber since March 2013. He lives in Forfar.
