Davidson Chalmers to hold free data protection law seminar for Fife businesses
Commercial law firm Davidson Chalmers is to hold a free seminar in Fife later this month focusing on new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its impact on employers.
The seminar, being held in Dunfermline on 15 November, will provide an insightful overview on the key aspects of GDPR for employers, examining the legal and business risks. The event will also include advice on how Fife businesses can minimise the risks and achieve positive outcomes while operating under the new regulatory regime.
With employment law changes taking place twice a year, the seminar will also outline recent developments and any new rules which have come into effect this month (October 2017).
The seminar will be led by Alan Strain, Davidson Chalmers’ employment law partner. He said: “GDPR comes with strict criteria where companies and organisations could face severe penalties if they are not compliant. It is therefore essential that employers fully understand the legislation and ensure they have adopted all the necessary measures before it goes into effect next year.
“Our free event is open to all Fife businesspeople and is aimed at helping management-level individuals who are responsible for managing personal data ensure they are aware of the new legislation, the potential impact it will have on their organisation and what they must do to be compliant.”
Breakfast and refreshments will be served at this free seminar being held at Carnegie Conference Centre, Halbeath Road, Dunfermline on Wednesday, 15 November from at 8am. The seminar ends at 9.30.
