Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award for Chamber member Fife Medical Group
Fife Medical Group’s support for the Armed Forces has been recognised with the award of a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award. The company, which specialises in first aid and medical event cover and first aid, mental health and wellbeing training, employs 10 reservists and eight military veterans. The firm’s HR policy is very supportive of the Reserve Forces, allowing them to take two weeks’ unpaid leave to assist with their yearly training commitment, and it supports local Cadets with training. Another Fife-headquartered organisation, Scottish Water, has received a Gold Award.
On receiving the award Michael Braid, Managing Director of Fife Medical Group said: "Given my personal history as a soldier with the Black Watch and currently as a serving reservist with the Royal Army Medical Corps, I am honoured to have received this award on behalf of Fife Medical Group. As a company we are committed to supporting the armed forces community."
Commenting on Fife Medical Group’s Award, Alan Mitchell, Chief Executive of Fife Chamber of Commerce, said: “Congratulations to the Fife Medical Group team. It is great to see one of our members recognised for the tremendous support they are giving to the armed forces who do so much for us all. Fife Chamber is also a Silver Award winner so I know how proud Michael and his team will be.”
