Fife Chamber gives over £5000 to local charity members

Fife Chamber has given away £5,120 to its 18 Charity members at an event held at the Dean Park Hotel in Kirkcaldy.

Each organisation received £284. The event was attended by 16 of the recipient Charities.

The money was raised at the Chamber’s main Showcase events throughout 2022.

We need to acknowledge the generosity of the members who supplied the sought-after prizes and paid into the raffles across 2022 or we would not have been able to hold the event in the first place.

It was decided this year to try a more equitable arrangement where every member charity would get a donation.

In previous years only one charity would be nominated to receive any money raised at one of the Showcase events and in some cases could receive upwards of £1,000. However, they would then have to wait several years before they would get another donation from the Chamber.

If this trial is successful and members prefer to receive a smaller sum but one that will be repeated annually. It will become an annual fixture in the Chamber’s events calendar.

The other benefit is that the charities will all be promoted at the Showcase events throughout the year and we can create an event, such as the one held at the Dean Park Hotel, that will help to raise public awareness and focus attention on the important work that they do.
