Glenrothes celebrates 75th Anniversary!

20th March 2023

Glenrothes was 'born' on 30th June 1948.

To celebrate this landmark, Fife Council, local businesses and community groups are planning an exhibition to tell the story of the town, its people and the businesses that have settled here showcasing:

• The early days and challenges of coal mining

• The town’s rebirth as part of Silicon Glen

• Businesses that thrive here today

• 75 years of change

• Public art including our famous hippos

• Wildlife conservation issues for wild hippos

• Local community groups and charities

• Community hopes for the future

Engagement with schools will also inspire youngsters to be creative in thinking about the town’s past and its future. This is an opportunity for the community and future employees to learn about your business, it’s history, activities and achievements.

This wonderful anniversary exhibition will be located in the Kingdom Centre throughout July-September 2023.
