Without further ado, let's get into it...

Disruptive not disrupting tech

Technology is developing at an alarming rate and the world of online marketing has shifted significantly since I started Inspire back in 2008.

In order to stay up-to-date with best practices and stay ahead (or at least in line) with our competition, I've invested heavily in new technologies and software which have allowed us to automate processes, save valuable time and produce more accurate data-driven results.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are at the forefront of new disruptive technologies, many of which can be used not only in our own industry of digital marketing but in all realms of business.

Some of the top benefits of experimenting with new AI technologies include:

⏰ Increased efficiency: AI can automate many tasks and processes, which can save time and effort.

🎯 Improved accuracy: AI can analyze large amounts of data at rapid rates and then make decisions based on that analysis, which can result in more accurate outcomes.

🧠 Enhanced decision-making: AI can assist people in making decisions by providing them with large amounts of information and by then helping them to analyze and interpret that information.

⚡️ Greater innovation: AI is an extremely helpful tool to use when you hit a brick wall. It can quickly generate new ideas and solutions on a whole host of subjects, helping to reignite your imagination and set you off on the right path

👍 Improve customer experiences: AI can be used to personalise customer interactions by providing individual recommendations based on past behaviours and feedback. Just think about how your Tik-Tok feed knows exactly the type of content you enjoy watching... it has learned from your swipes and likes to create an experience that is uniquely personal to you.

AI can be a scary thought and often we fret over it replacing us in the world of work. However, if we learn to use AI to our advantage, it can help actually help out business flourish, allowing teams to operate more efficiently and assisting us in providing a higher level of service to our customers.

Check back with us in two weeks' time when I'll go deeper into the benefits of AI and how you can use it to help your business, whatever industry you're in.

Checking out the competition

We do it in all walks of life. Whether it's sports teams reviewing their rival's recent performances, scrutinising our neighbour's home decor when we're invited in for coffee or comparing our children's exam results with their best friend's, we need to know the competition in order to measure our own level of success.

So why not do the same in business?

Analysing your closest competitors is one of the most effective ways to stay ahead. Online success is a key factor in any modern business's marketing plan meaning that if your competition is getting more likes, traffic, follows and engagement, they're probably getting more sales as well.

Sticking to your resolutions in 2023

The start of the year is an excellent time for setting targets. With a fresh mind and a clean slate, many of us feel optimistic about achieving our future goals in the first weeks of a New Year.

However, the reality is that most people don't see their goals through to the end. In fact, almost one out of four people will quit within the first week of setting a New Year's resolution andonly 9% of us manage to complete our goals.

Just as with business targets, it makes sense to apply a SMART approach to setting goals. No matter what the goal is or how gigantic it may seem, following the below tips will help you become part of that coveted 9%.

  • Start small: Don't try to make too many changes at once, or set goals that are too difficult to achieve. This can lead to frustration and give you an excuse to give up. Instead, start with small, achievable goals and build up gradually. Try breaking your big goal into smaller, actionable steps and as long as you focus on it consistently, you'll get there in the end.
  • Be specific: The more specific your resolution is, the easier it will be to stick to. For example, instead of resolving to "exercise more," try setting a specific goal such as, "go for a 30-minute walk every day" or "attend a yoga class twice a week.". This is easier to measure and allows you to celebrate small wins as you go.
  • Find a partner: Having someone to support you, motivate you and hold you accountable is extremely helpful and often undervalued when it comes to sticking to our goals. Find a friend, family member or colleague who is also trying to make a change and work together to stay on track. Not only will you motivate one another but you'll also have a support
  • Stay positive: Stress is one of the number one reasons why people relapse on their goals. It's important not to beat yourself up if you have a setback or don't achieve your goal as quickly as you would like. Instead, focus on the progress you have made and stay positive and motivated.
  • Celebrate your wins: By taking notes, acknowledging your wins and reflecting on your progress you will increase your motivation to continue. Rewarding yourself, either through internal praise or through external actions, can have a huge impact on whether you stick to your resolution or not.
