Kickstart at The HR Booth

Ailsa Gollan has joined The HR Booth as HR and Marketing Assistant and was identified via the government’s Kickstart Scheme.

Her role is to provide administrative support to the HR team, including letter witing for various HR issues such as absence, disciplinary, and performance. In addition, she will be supporting some recruitment activities for clients including job adverts, organising interviews, and keeping in touch with candidates. Within Marketing she focuses on maintaining their website and social media presence, as well as creating content for these platforms.

Ailsa joined through the government’s Kickstart Scheme but will also be helping to support the HR Booth’s Kickstart Gateway programme. This is her first professional role since graduating from the University of Strathclyde last year a joint BA in Economics and Human Resource Management with First Class Honours. She is keen to develop a career within HR, so is looking forward to developing on her academic knowledge with some real-world HR experience.

Ailsa said: “My first week has been fast and very enjoyable. I’m still finding my feet but there’s been so much information and loads of tasks to get involved in, so it’s absolutely flown by!

Working in a small team like this isn’t something I’ve experienced before and I’m really enjoying it! You really feel like part of a team and everyone is so welcoming.”
