Kingdom Housing Association Wins Wellbeing Award
Kingdom Housing Association has been recognised for its outstanding commitment to physical, mental and financial wellbeing, winning the Wellbeing Award at the prestigious Fife Business Awards.
Kingdom’s innovative approach to employee wellbeing delivered initiatives that helped the Fife-based Association develop a culture that normalised open conversations about mental health, promoted healthy lifestyle choices, provided supports to help staff maintain their financial wellbeing, and teamed up with a local Primary School to produce a Support Pack full of coping strategies for colleagues and customers alike.
Kingdom’s HR Director, Andrew Latto, received the award on behalf of Kingdom, at the gala event held at The Old Course St Andrews. Andrew said, “ Having a focus on wellbeing has been hugely important in helping us all through the past couple of years but we can’t be complacent as its impact on people’s physical, mental and financial wellbeing will be felt for years to come along with all the other things that can make life feel difficult. Knowing how to cope with those challenges is crucial so it was fabulous last year when the pupils at North Queensferry Primary School made a video to tell us the ways they maintain their own resilience. ”
Lee Waugh, Headteacher at North Queensferry Primary School said, “For the last two years pupils at North Queensferry have been spending more time learning to develop skills and strategies to manage their emotional wellbeing. We were delighted to have the opportunity to share our learning with staff at Kingdom and be part of this collaborative project. Pupils were thrilled to see this award in school, as recognition of their contribution to Kingdom’s award-winning support packages for their colleagues and customers.”
Kingdom Housing Association was also shortlisted as a finalist in both the Customer Service and the Sustainability categories at the Fife Business Awards.
Bill Banks, Kingdom Group Chief Executive said, “We were very pleased to be finalists in three categories at the Fife Business Awards and to win the Wellbeing Award is brilliant. Our colleagues have significantly benefited from our focus on Health and Wellbeing, especially during the pandemic. It is something we are very proud of and want to showcase in as many ways as possible in the hope other organisations will be inspired to do likewise. Health and Wellbeing has been embedded within Kingdom and receiving this award reflects the hard work and dedication that goes into making wellbeing a priority for everyone.”
