Let's Talk About Fife's Future
Fife Council wants to offer straightforward, modern and supportive local services that open-up opportunity and help make Fife a better, fairer place to live and work.
I’m writing to invite you to one of our public workshops to discuss how we might achieve this aim
- Tuesday 7 February 2017, 6pm-8pm, Rothes Halls, Glenrothes or
- Thursday 9 February 2017, 6pm-8pm Carnegie Conference Centre, Dunfermline
If you saw the BBC One documentary, “The Council” in December, it may have added to your local knowledge about the challenges we face, the breadth of services the council provides and the range of people that rely on them. As a council we’re bound by law to do some things, while other policies and spending plans are decided by local Councillors.
The challenge in a nutshell…
- our population is increasing and ageing;
- people want and need different things from local services nowadays;
- we want to invest to improve lives but must also save millions of pounds each year; and
- our budget covers everything from streetlights and stray dogs to schools and social care;
- rising costs and reduced funding.
To make sure vital services are fit for the future we must make changes. These public workshops – just part of ongoing conversations with communities – are an opportunity to hear from Councillors about the challenges and choices facing Fife and to contribute to improving public services.
The workshops will allow you to:
- hear about what we’ve done to find out how different areas within Fife are doing and what’s needed to help make the places we live better in the future;
- share your views on the priorities for making Fife a better, fairer place to live and work; and
- tell us how you think public services should change to deliver these priorities.
Places are limited at each workshop. Please register to attend using the following links to the Eventbrite website –
