Moffat Electrical Projects Ltd in Dunfermline are delighted to announce that they have successfully renewed their electrical contract with Fife Council. The framework agreement will last initially for two years with an optional extension for a further 2 years with a contract value of approximately £16 million.
The award means that Moffat Electrical Projects in Fife will continue to employ over 40 people in the local community and beyond. Managing Director Drew McIndoe said “This framework announcement means we can continue with our plans for sustainable expansion. We have been a Fife Council Contractor for over 10 years now and have always looked to not only employ labour locally but also procure our materials from within Fife. Over the last decade Moffat Electrical Projects Ltd have had 10 apprentices who are now fully qualified Electricians and currently have a further four working towards their grading. Drew added “we have always had a really strong apprentice programme. The recent contract award means that we are able to continue with our plan to start another four 1st year apprentices this year.”
The scope of works in the framework agreement is for Electrical Testing, Rewires and Solar PV installations in Domestic and Non-Domestic Properties.
Moffat’s Operations Director Scott McInnes said “Fife Council have always had a pro-active approach to safety and innovation. They are committed to providing a safe and energy efficient environment in all of their properties. They have a robust programme of electrical safety testing and replacement, as well as installation of more economical LED lighting and Solar PV installations. They also have a Fire alarm installation programme that is second to no other Local Authority in the country and we are delighted to be chosen to help deliver this programme of works.”
