New Chamber President and Vice President chosen by members
President and Vice President elected at the Fife Chamber AGM
Colin Brown, who joined the Board of Directors in 2019 and has served as Vice President since 2021, was elected by members as President at the online Annual General Meeting. Heather Stuart, also a Board member since 2019, was elected Vice-President. Colin is a Director in the Property Division of Burness Paull LLP. Heather is the Chief Executive of Fife Cultural Trust. Colin replaces Janet McIntyre from Thorntons as President. Colin and Heather will serve an initial one-year term of office, which can be extended by a further year if approved by members at the 2023 AGM.
Alan Mitchell, Chief Executive of Fife Chamber, said of the appointments: “I have had the pleasure of working closely with Colin and Heather over the last three years and I have seen at first-hand how committed they are to the success of the Chamber, and how much they want it to be a powerful advocate and support network for businesses in Fife. We all share a vision for Fife Chamber that puts members first and the Chamber staff know that we can rely on their full support as we strive to deliver our ambitious membership engagement and growth targets.
“We need to acknowledge and thank Janet McIntyre for all her hard work. She was always available to support me and the rest of the team when we needed help. She was always passionate and positive about Fife Chamber. Ultimately no chamber of commerce can prosper unless the people who are part of it - the staff, the Board or the membership really care about it. Janet most certainly does and I thank her for that.”
