Rosa Lifestyle: A Fife-based Business Transforming How Everyday Living Aids Look, Feel and Function.
What if tableware products designed to support independence didn’t look clinical at all? That question sparked the creation of Rosa Lifestyle, a Fife-based business transforming how everyday living aids look, feel and function.
Founded by award-winning entrepreneur Sarah Nutt, Rosa Lifestyle develops stylish adaptive tableware designed to help people maintain independence and confidence when eating and drinking. The company’s lightweight two-handled mugs, coordinated snack trays and mug accessories are specifically created for people living with reduced grip strength, tremors, arthritis or cognitive conditions such as Parkinson’s and dementia.
Unlike traditional assistive products, Rosa Lifestyle’s designs prioritise both function and aesthetics. Bright colours, contemporary patterns and thoughtful ergonomics help users retain dignity while making products that people genuinely want to use.
“Too many products designed for independent living look medical or institutional,” said Sarah Nutt, Founder of Rosa Lifestyle. “I wanted to create something that supports people physically while also respecting their identity and sense of style.”
Since launching in 2022, Rosa Lifestyle has sold thousands of products across the UK and internationally through ecommerce platforms, retailers and healthcare providers. The company also works closely with care homes and community groups to ensure products are shaped by real user feedback.
Innovation continues to be a key focus. Rosa Lifestyle has an on-going university collaboration exploring new materials, modular product systems and more sustainable manufacturing approaches.
“Our goal is simple,” added Sarah. “We want to create products that empower people to live independently and with dignity, while proving that design-led solutions can transform a sector that continues to be overlooked.”
As the population ages and demand for independence aids grows, Rosa Lifestyle is demonstrating how inclusive design and thoughtful innovation can create both a positive social impact and commercial opportunity.
