Scottish Chambers of Commerce looking for your input on the Transient Visitor’s Levy consultation

12th November 2019

The Transient Visitor’s Levy consultation seeks to develop the Scottish Government’s understanding of the issues and concerns with regard to the introduction of a Transient Visitor Levy and help inform the development of legislation to enable local authorities to apply a visitor levy. In particular, the consultation seeks views to ensure that the legislation:

  • supports the continuing success of the tourism industry in Scotland;
  • provides the powers that are needed for local authorities to respond to local pressures;
  • minimises the administrative and compliance burdens for those affected.

The consultation was launched on the 9th of September and will run until midnight on 2 December 2019.

Your views will be collected by the Scottish Chambers of Commerce and will be presented to government through a chamber network view.

If you wish to contribute to the network view as a member/board member or as a stakeholder, please send these to [email protected]
