Students across the world invited to virtually visit the University

Prospective students from around the globe will have the opportunity to explore the University of Dundee and its campus from the comfort of their own home as the Undergraduate Open Days go online.

This year the University will open its (virtual) doors for the 2020 Undergraduate Open Days, giving potential students great opportunities to learn more about the University and explore what Dundee has to offer.

Students thinking about studying at the University of Dundee are invited to attend the events on Monday 31 August and Saturday 26 September. A new Virtual Tour platform has been developed to provide a completely original virtual tour for the University that meets new accessibility requirements.

Although attendees will not be able to physically roam the campus, each element of a traditional Open Day has been redesigned to provide the best information and to link back to the campus environment. Prospective students will be able to explore and discover courses, facilities, student life and more through a variety of talks and discussions.

Dr Shane Collins, Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions, said, “The University Open Days are one of the most important opportunities for potential students to meet our community.

“We are very excited to bring the experience of being at the University to online visitors using our new Virtual Tour platform. Our academic community love to share the best of Dundee with visitors and we are pleased we can do this again this year in this new way.

“Making our Open Day available online also means we can reach students wherever they are, so this is a tremendous opportunity for people from anywhere in the world to connect with us and explore what we have to offer.”

After a welcome from Principal Professor David Maguire, participants will be invited to join informational talks about different subject areas, application processes, student finance, student life and study abroad opportunities.

Live drop-in sessions will be open for attendees to chat to student ambassadors and University staff, and ask questions on topics such as admissions, student services and what it’s like to study as an international student at Dundee.
