Talking Horse Design & Print help produce PPE visors

28th April 2020

In the face of the current Covid-19 crisis companies continue to come together to innovate and produce much needed equipment, and Talking Horse Design & Print are proud to be one of these companies.

Owner Ed Waugh was recently approached by a client who is part of a group working gathering donations to go towards producing vital PPE supplies for Scotland. Their client, who was producing PPE visors utilising 3D printing technology, were unable to source shielding film. The initial idea was to use a piece of A4 acetate as the shield however it was pointed out by Ed that normal acetate wasn't the material to use due to the chemicals used to produce it and that A4 would not offer adequate protection.

With this in mind the team have now been able to offer the correct PET, optically clear film at a larger size and 500 micron thick being ideal for the job. Talking Horse Design & Print are proud to say that they will be providing the material at cost in a demonstration of our support for our frontline workers.

Speaking on behalf of Talking Horse Print & Design, Ed Waugh commented, “We at Talking Horse Print and Design are delighted to be able to help use the donations amassed by the people of The East Neuk of Fife, Edinburgh & Glasgow in providing essential material to support our frontline NHS hero’s during these exceptional times. Coming together as a community to work together to beat COVID-19 and save lives is more important than profit at the moment.”
