University of St Andrews shortlisted by The Meetings Industry Association for the miaList2020 Team Award
The Accommodation, Conferences & Events team University of St Andrews has been shortlisted for the Meetings Industry Association (mia) miaList 2020 team award and they need your vote to win!
The miaList recognises those who collectively go above and beyond to make their organisation a success, while championing the meetings and events industry.
Each shortlisted team was invited to virtually present to a panel of judges and is now being put forward to a public vote to help determine a winner. ACE Sales Manager Kerry Watson and Senior Events Operations Manager Margaux Park represented the team in front of the panel of four judges, who wanted to know about the diversity the team has shown over the past eight months.
With the whole of summer 2020 commercial business being cancelled, ACE took the opportunity to put their skills to best use by supporting other departments within the University and helping to deliver essential services to ensure student safety and support was in place for their return in September.
Other finalists include the teams from the QEll Conference Centre in London; Pembroke College at the University of Oxford; The ICC Belfast; Venue Cymru; and Madingley Hall Conference Centre at Cambridge University. MIA Chief Executive Jane Longhurst said of the shortlist: “Collaborative working has always been vital to any organisation’s success but, during a turbulent time, it has been absolutely humbling to see how each of the teams have united, adapted and gone above and beyond, and ultimately taken teamwork to the next level.”
Staff and students are invited to cast their votes for the ACE team on the miaList website by Monday 23 November.
