Update from Cheryl's Comms Corner
So I thought it was only right since I am now looking after communications I should give you an insight into what I have covered in my first 2 months in the job and what the plan is going forward.
As some of you will know I am now responsible for the Chamber fortnightly newsletter, which means I am the one looking for all your news stories. When talking to members I am hearing "Oh we don't really have a lot of news to share” but just because you don't feel something is newsworthy, doesn't mean to say other people and businesses won't find your news interesting or relevant, so please do share any items of interest with me, get me added to your press release list or pass on my details to your marketing department.
I am also looking after our e-shot service. E-shots provide an opportunity to introduce your business to other members and promote your products and services. I am trying to encourage businesses to ensure that their message is clear and concise as well as trying to maximise on the links to company website or contact details.
I have had some amazing highlights since I started. I thoroughly enjoyed the 'Behind the Scenes' at FiFab - it was amazing to see not only the actual production side of the business but the level of staff engagement and interaction that they have in their business.
My first Fife Social was at the fast and furious Knockhill Racing Circuit. It was refreshing to attend a networking event that clearly delivers a much more relaxed approach to the term 'networking'.
Attending the Annual Dinner was simply fabulous! Our guest speaker Derek Mackay MSP along with Josh Littlejohn from Social Bite delivered inspiring speeches. And to top the night off, to see our chosen charities, CHAS and Social Bite, presented with £1000 each was an honor in itself.
Going forward I am looking forward to attending my first Fife Learn at Rothes Hall on 1st November with Journeycall and getting an insight into how they develop their staff.
As well as the events above, I have been out and about with Alan and Paul meeting some existing members as well as meeting with some new members myself. To those of you I have met, thank you for the welcome, for those I haven’t met I look forward to meeting you soon!
