Help develop a New Economic Strategy for Fife

The Fife Economy Partnership, Fife Council and the Opportunities Fife Partnership are currently developing a new economic strategy for the region.

They are keen to find out about the challenges and barriers to growth businesses in Fife are encountering and are inviting local business operators to let them know by taking part in an online survey.

By completing the questionnaire you will help the Fife Economy Partnership and its partners understand the issues and challenges facing businesses in Fife and enable them to better shape the new strategy to meet your needs and help you grow.

Stephen Doran, Chair of the Fife Economy Partnership, said: “The last few years have seen lots of changes from advances in robotics to a dramatic drop in oil prices. We are keen to make sure that our new strategy helps equip local businesses to not only cope with the issues these changes have brought but also take advantage of the new and emerging opportunities they offer.

“The online questionnaire gives businesses a chance to tell us about the challenges and issues they are currently experiencing. This will help us ensure that the new Strategy’s Action Plan is tailored to meet their needs.”

Councillor Lesley Laird, Fife Council’s Depute Leader and Executive Spokesperson for Economy and Planning said: “The outcome of this review is to have a new overarching 10 year economic and employability strategy for Fife which will help businesses be more resilient and better able to cope with change.”

“We would like to hear from as many businesses as possible - the online questionnaire should only take a few minutes to complete and comments can be submitted until 1 September.”

Businesses can also get involved in developing the new strategy by coming along to a business breakfast taking place at the Carnegie Conference Centre on Friday 2 September. Meet members of the Fife Economy Partnership and take part in a discussion on the challenges facing Fife’s economy and how best to tackle them. Places for this event are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
