Stagecoach Among the Winners at 2017 UK Bus Awards

Stagecoach East Scotland has been recognised at the 2017 UK Bus Awards.

Several Stagecoach businesses across the UK were recognised across a range of award categories at the 22nd annual awards ceremony held in London last week (Tuesday 21 November), with gold, silver and bronze awards being handed out.

Stagecoach UK Bus was recognised in categories covering operations, marketing and community.

In the Top Shire Operator category, Stagecoach East Scotland scooped the silver award, while Stagecoach Manchester was awarded a bronze award in the Top City Operator category.

Stagecoach East Scotland also won bronze in the Award for Sustained Marketing Excellence for the second year in a row, for its Express City Connect network. The network consists of luxury coaches operating across the region, connecting towns and cities with a fast and frequent coach link and the marketing team were commended for their continued efforts in vehicle branding, promotions and consistent customer communications.

At last year's awards, Stagecoach East Scotland’s St Andrews depot was named Top National Bus Depot but the team were unable to hold onto the accolade for a second year, the award went to a depot on the South coast of England for 2017.

Stagecoach East Scotland Managing Director Paul Thomas said: “It’s great to see our local team rewarded at these awards based on their continued commitment to providing the best possible network of services across East Scotland.

“We are continuing to invest in improvements for our customers and to work hard with our partners as well as urging politicians to make the practical changes needed to make bus travel even better and allow bus networks to flourish.”
