Fife Council promoting forthcoming Innovation Events

Fife Council will be working in partnership with the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS) and the University of Cambridge to showcase “Digital Manufacturing on a Shoestring”. The aim of the workshop is to inspire businesses with examples of digital improvements that can be made inexpensively, quickly and don’t need a deep upskilling of the workforce. The University of Cambridge are committed to supporting any business who have identified a need they would like to focus on after the event as are SMAS.

The event is on 28th January 2020 starting at 9am at the Enterprise Hub in Glenrothes.

The next event “Driving Continuous Improvement Through Data” focuses on the benefits of using data to continually improve business processes. We are finalising the agenda at the moment but we will be highlighting the Data Driven Innovation work being done as part of the Edinburgh City Deal and how this can benefit businesses in Fife. More information will follow on this.

The event is on 26th February 2020 from 4pm to 6pm at the DoubleTree by Hilton - Queensferry Crossing.

“Creating Value Your Customers Will Love” aims to explain how to identify what it is customers truly value, how to validate these and decide which (if any) to pursue in order to help create products or services that will delight them. We hope this will inspire businesses to review their operations with a different mindset.

The event is on 5 March at 9:30 am at the Enterprise Hub in Glenrothes.

They are finalising a programme to bring Innovation Engineering to Fife in a series of masterclasses which will introduce innovation as a system driven innovative business approach for lean thinking. It is grounded in the work of Dr W Edwards Deming and creates a cross organisational system that increases innovation speed and decreases risk. This is new way of thinking that identifies the ‘meaningfully unique’ aspect of a business.

The initial masterclass will be held on 26th March at the Enterprise Hub but more details will follow about the series when they are finalised.

With all the events they hope to inspire businesses to look at things differently and challenge their thinking to have a positive impact on their business.
