New owners and growth plans for Narvida

20th July 2021

Dunfermline’s Narvida is being given a new lease of life, having been recently acquired by Perth-based Edwards Engineering. The fabrication business will see a sizable investment, as the new owners look to improve processes and productivity.

A new Production Manager, Mike Paton, who started his career at Narvida, has returned, and will lead the workplace improvements. New systems – CRM, accounting and procurement – are being installed, whilst investments are being made to the plant as well as equipment.

Narvida was established back in the 1940s and has a strong skill set, manufacturing tanks, vessels and pipes for predominantly the food and drink sector but also serves wider process industries.

David Alexander, one of the directors of Edwards Engineering, is overseeing the investment at Narvida. David said:

“We saw an opportunity to acquire Narvida to support Edward Engineering’s supply chain, whilst also investing in and growing the business. There’s plenty of potential as we have a full order book, and whilst servicing those clients we’re focused on improving productivity, investing in the plant, equipment and systems, and recruiting additional roles, all of which will help to achieve our target of doubling turnover in the next couple of years.”

Narvida will be working with the local and regional economic development and enterprise agencies to support its development plans.
