80 players join Fife Chamber for a round of golf in the sunshine at the Chamber’s Golf Day Challenge
Fife Chamber welcomed 80 players to their annual golf day, held on Member Fairmont St Andrews’ Torrance course this year.
The day was sponsored by the Purvis Group. There was further support from the Fairmont which sponsored the post-golf lunch and a generous donation of 80 sleeves of golf balls as part of the golf day gifts from St Andrews Links Trust.
The refreshments cart was funded and delivered by the team from Developing Young Workforce which kept the teams suitably hydrated and energised on a beautiful sunny day.
All the players enjoyed the day (regardless of the final score), including bacon rolls, teas and coffees to start their day; followed by 18 holes of golf in a Texas scramble format and shot gun start.
The day included the usual golf day challenges like, nearest the pin, longest drive and the Charity hole in one competition
The prizes on offer this year included four balls at the Fairmont the Dukes course and Dumbarnie Links.
The prize for the longest drive was a pack of 12 golf balls donated by Josh Anderson Golf and the winner of the nearest the pin won a bottle of Darnley’s gin donated by Realm Construction.
The winners on the day included: Laurie Watson from St Andrews Links Trust for the Longest Drive. Cory DeSilva from the Fairmont St Andrews won the Nearest the pin.
In reverse order the top three teams were in 3rd place Realm Construction. 2nd prize went to Eaglestone Construction and this year’s winner of the DM Hall Golf Day Challenge Cup were Developing Young Workforce.
The day raised £704 for our Chamber charity members on our hole in one competition.
