CEO Update April 2025

22nd April 2025

Following a dynamic first quarter, April has seen Fife Chamber continue its work in strengthening the regional business ecosystem. Our commitment to fostering connections remains strong, and we are building on the success of recent collaborative events to explore further opportunities for partnership and growth within and beyond Fife.

In this month's update, we want to draw your attention to a vital area impacting businesses: taxation. Following the recent start of the 2025/26 tax year on April 6th, our partners at Thomson Cooper have provided a helpful overview of the new tax rates. Understanding these changes is essential for effective financial planning. You can find detailed information on income tax thresholds, personal allowances, National Insurance contributions, and more on their website in the article "What are the new tax rates for 2025/26?". We encourage you to review this to ensure your business is well-informed for the year ahead.

Looking ahead, we are excited about the upcoming Fife Business Awards 2025, taking place on Friday, 16th May at the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews. This prestigious event offers a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the outstanding achievements of businesses and individuals across Fife. It's a chance to network, recognise excellence, and reinforce the strength and vibrancy of our local economy. We are delighted to have secured Des Clarke as our host for the evening.

Our commitment to supporting your business growth continues through our diverse events calendar. We're launching the first in a new series of events, designed around the topics that matter most to you, our first session is on networking. Our expert speaker will share proven techniques and practical tools to help you build confidence and make meaningful connections in any networking environment. The event will take place at National Trust for Scotland’s beautiful Hill of Tarvit Mansion. There may be an opportunity to Tee off in Twenties style on the only dedicated hickory golf course in the UK, book online Networking Session.
