Family-run Fife business successfully moves into the US
A family-owned business in Fife has successfully launched in the United States realising a lifetime ambition of its founder.
Established by John Waring in 1992, Pinpoint develops, manufactures, and installs high-tech security systems to protect employees at risk of violence in the workplace. This includes hospitals, mental health facilities, and correctional facilities.
Increasing attacks on healthcare workers in recent years have put Pinpoint’s systems in high demand and Pinpoint has positioned itself a leading provider securing 80% market share in the UK and Ireland.
Despite setbacks caused by the pandemic, Pinpoint has made great headway in the US with its staff alarm systems installed in over thirty healthcare settings in the US from its HQ in New York.
Daniel Waring, CEO of Pinpoint said:
“As we celebrate 30 years in business this year, its incredibly gratifying to see our hard work coming to fruition in the US. My late father, John, tried for years to get Pinpoint in America, and I am delighted to have achieved this, despite a global pandemic.”
Pinpoint has carried out over 3000 installations in high-risk settings and has ambitions to double that by the end of the year.
Daniel added: “Coming from a small town in Scotland, we have certainly come a long way and that’s as a result of a well-designed product, highly skilled technicians and a dedicated workforce who share in our mission to keep everyone safe at work.”
In June this year, Pinpoint will launch its latest staff alarm system, P2, which has been designed in house and manufactured in the UK.
