Fife Businesses Cook Up a Storm at 200th Royal Highland Show
After a two-year absence, the iconic Royal Highland Show made a spectacular return this month, and Fife businesses were there, showcasing a range of fantastic food and drink.
Fife continues to cook up a storm as its food and drink sector grows, develops, evolves, innovates, and thrives, and those local businesses, which took part in InvestFife’s Tastes of Fife showcase, did not disappoint. It was a collective delight of food and drink businesses, which came together to showcase the very best of Fife.
The Buffalo Farm exhibited on the Tastes of Fife stand, and its Scottish Buffalo Mozzarella won a gold medal in the event’s Scottish Dairy Championship. It also ‘scooped’ three bronze medals for its Buffalo ice cream – raspberry ripple, pure buffalo, and mint choc chip.
Emma Johnson of The Buffalo Farm, commented:
“We were delighted to exhibit alongside some fantastic local brands on the Tastes of Fife stand at the Royal Highland Show this year. The priceless support and expertise from Fife Council’s Trade Development Programme made this event possible and the stand itself looked amazing!
“As our first public event showcasing our award-winning buffalo ice cream, we couldn’t be happier with the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received and for winning three bronze awards! The food hall had a great buzz and was alive with excitement from producers and customers alike at finally being able to talk to people face to face and taste all the delicious flavours we artisan producers have been busily creating and refining over lockdown.”
Modern Standard Coffee, Pilgrim’s Gin, Rumburra, Heavenly Goodies, Tayport Distillery, Wee Tea Company, Woodmill Game, East Neuk Salt Co and Mara Seaweed also exhibited on the Tastes of Fife stand, which was supported by Fife Council Economic Development’s Trade Development Programme, enabling them all to reach new and existing audiences by speaking directly to consumers through the sampling of products and services. There were also trade buyers in attendance.
Pamela Stevenson, Service Manager, Economic Development, Business and Employability at Fife Council, commented:
“Tastes of Fife was a strong showcase, promoting some of the region’s finest food and drink producers. They had the chance to speak directly to customers with plenty of opportunities to showcase products and services via networking, sampling, and selling directly to trade customers and consumers. It was a busy weekend, and we look forward to hearing more of the successes to come from it.”
