Fife Chamber Annual Dinner Boost for Charities

28th November 2016

Maggie’s Fife and the Bethany Christian Trust were the recipients of generous donations thanks to the support of guests at the recent Fife Chamber Annual Dinner.

Fife Chamber’s chosen beneficiary charities each received a cheque for £1175, with the money being raised through prize-draw donations on the night.

Maggie’s Fife Fundraising Manager Claire Heaton said: “Maggie’s Fife is run entirely on voluntary donations and the fantastic efforts of the attendees of the Annual Dinner will allow us to continue to develop our unique, high-quality programme of support to help those living with cancer and their family and friends across Fife.

“This year the centre needs to raise over £450,000 to run our support groups and we couldn’t achieve this without support from organisations such as the Fife Chamber and its associates.”

Edinburgh-based homelessness charity the Bethany Christian Trust, who operate an office in Methil, also vowed to put the money to good use in supporting local people in desperate need.

Corporate Fundraiser Ann McLaughlan said: “The Bethany Christian Trust works with over 7,000 individuals and families every year who find themselves in very difficult circumstances, struggling with daily life due to illness, unemployment or difficult family circumstances.

“We are extremely thankful for the generous donation raised by the guests at the Annual Dinner and presented to us by Fife Chamber, and the money will go back into supporting the most in need users of our Methil based services.”

Fife Chamber President Peter Southcott praised the generosity of donors at the dinner: “The Fife Chamber Annual Dinner is a fantastic event which showcases the diversity and success of business in Fife year-on-year, with almost 200 guests attending this year’s celebration.

“It is heart-warming to know that, in the midst of celebration, our guests were thinking of those less fortunate and took the opportunity to offer their generous support to the Chamber’s chosen charities and the valuable services that they provide.

“The Chamber is very proud to support such worthy causes and equally proud of our members for showing their support.”

The cheques were presented to each charity by the Fife Chamber team.
