Fife Chamber Board of Directors Update

15th April 2021

The last year has been tough for everyone, but the vaccine roll out and the gradual easing of social and business restrictions augers well for us all in the coming months.

The Fife Chamber Board is looking forward to seeing you all at live events again. It has been too long since we welcomed you in person to our Showcase events and we cannot wait to resume them later this year.

Until then, the team will maintain its programme of online events to bring members together. Account management will keep the team connected to members. Our social media and other comms channels will remain open to share member news. We’ll keep processing the documents that are vital to exporters. We will continue to give members political reach and influence through the British Chambers of Commerce and the Scottish Chambers of Commerce. We will continue to raise funds for charity members through Fife Learn Rebuild, and promote and support DYW, Career Ready and ChamberFORCE.

There will be some big changes at Fife Chamber in the next few months.

Cheryl and Lynda leave us at the end of April for exciting new jobs. They have been exceptional performers, and we want to thank them on your behalf for everything they have done to make our chamber operationally, financially and reputationally stronger. The process to recruit their replacements is under way and we are confident that the Chamber’s positive standing and profile will attract high-quality applicants. Alan and the team are diligently planning how to maintain a high-quality service until we get their replacements appointed so we would appreciate your patience during this transitional period. We are ready to help them if they need us.

In addition to replacing Lynda and Cheryl, we are hiring someone through the Kickstart Scheme. That will allow us to do more to help our members prosper and it will give a young person a great career start.

There will be more change at the AGM in May when Janet succeeds Brian as President and Colin succeeds Janet as Vice-President. We are currently reviewing the composition of the Board as we are keen to make sure that it reflects the full spectrum of businesses and talent within the membership.

We hope that you will all join us at the AGM on 20th May and share with us your views on how you would like to see the Chamber to develop in the future. Please just get in touch with the team and they will register you.

Lots of Covid restrictions are still in place but the return to normal is coming, and it will bring better times for all of us. Fife Chamber will still be working very hard for its members, while we find and welcome the new members of the team who will be part of our shared journey to be the best chamber of commerce in Scotland.

The Board thanks you all for your support: past, present and future.
