K107FM to launch an easy fundraising idea on Local Radio Day

18th October 2023

Support local, even when shopping online.......

K107FM, the award winning community radio station covering Kirkcaldy and the surrounding area will once again be taking part in Local Radio Day, on Friday 20th October.

Local Radio Day highlights the value of local radio to the communities it serves, with stations across the country taking part and celebrating their community.

This year, K107FM will be using Local Radio Day to start a new initiative with easyfundraising, the UK’s biggest charity shopping site. This free online platform allows people to generate funds for K107FM whilst they shop, with over 8,000 retailers to choose from and at no cost.

Even more exciting, for a two-week period starting on Local Radio Day, every new supporter sign-up means a generous £1 bonus donation from easyfundraising to K107FM. It's a simple way to support the station without any additional cost to users.

K107FM continues to emphasise the shop local message, working with multiple local businesses to promote what they do through on-air advertising, as well as being a Fife Chamber of Commerce Member.

As such, K107FM is looking to also ask the local business community, as well as individuals to support this new initiative. For businesses perhaps purchasing office supplies, computing equipment of with regular travel expenses, these could also raise money for K107FM for free as well. With “big business” retailers such as Apple, Dell, Trainline and Travelodge, alongside many more also on the easyfundraising platform.

Alex Airnes, from K107FM stating:

“We’re always going to support Fife Chamber members and local businesses, with even more opportunities to work with K107FM over the festive period this year. However we’re aware that many of us shop online too. Through easyfundraising, we’re giving local businesses the chance to still support local, even when they have to go online - and there are over 8,000 to choose from with easygiving. Furthermore, the donations are free, so they can support their local radio station when doing their normal online shopping “

People can sign up to the platform via the link below, and easyfundraising will give K107FM a £1 donation for everyone who registers between 20th October and 3rd November.

Those who then use easyfundraising for their business needs, weekly online grocery shop, Christmas shopping or even renewing their home insurance will then lead to further donations to K107FM
