K107FM to offer a ‘Warm Welcome’ this Winter

20th November 2024

No one needs to face the worry of rising costs alone.

Fife Council’s Cost of Living Support Campaign aims to help people through these difficult times. The local authority are wanting to make sure every Fifer has easy access to useful information and practical support from a wide range of services and organisations –and when they need it the most!

‘Warm Welcome’ is part of Fife’s community response. It is a new movement to open up venues across Fife to encourage people to come together, enjoy activities, food or refreshments, and get warmth of all kinds

As part of this initiative, local radio station, K107FM is set to open it’s Community Space within the Mercat Shopping Centre, Kirkcaldy, and offer a ‘Warm Welcome’ every Friday from 09:00 til 14:00, starting from Friday 22nd November.

The station will be offering the chance to find out more about the station, which this year is celebrating its 10th year of broadcasting to the Kirkcaldy area, and fresh from another award win at this years Community Radio Awards in Cardiff at the weekend.

The stations ‘Warm Welcome’ extends further, with the broadcaster sharing an open invite to other Warm Welcome providers, and local organisations to come in and speak about the services and support they provide relating to cost of living support. These conversations can then be pre-recorded within the Community Space and then broadcast on-air to further highlight the support available throughout Fife.

K107FM will also support the Warm Welcome campaign through further on-air and social media support throughout the winter with the aim of signposting other local activities, services, support and providers.

“As the community radio station for the area, we’ve long supported various campaigns and stakeholders to offer support and showcase providers and services to a wider audience. This Warm Welcome campaign will allow the public to find out more about our role in the community and offer an opportunity to find out how to get involved. It’s also an open door for local organisations to come in and tell us what they are doing, to which we can let everyone else know. I’ll even get the kettle on so we can have a cuppa and a chat!

We hope we can get the #gethelpfife message and support to those who need it most”

K107FM would also be keen to hear from local organisations offering support over the festive period, and would also invite them to come into the Community Space on Friday’s to share more about their festive activities, fundraisers and support.

Additionally, local businesses would also be given a Warm Welcome to discuss how they could work with K107FM, whether that be the stations popular Christmas Greetings campaign, or ongoing cost effective advertising and sponsorship.

K107FM’s Warm Welcome will run on Friday’s until the end of 2024, with dates and times for 2025 to be announced in the new year.
