Kingdom Housing Association Raise £1,220 For Cottage Christmas Appeal
Staff at Kingdom Housing have raised £1,220 for the Cottage Family Centre Christmas Appeal, helping to make Christmas magical for local families.
The Cottage Family Centre is based in Kirkcaldy, Fife, and supports local children and families who face significant hardship. Last year the Cottage made sure over 1,800 households had food, toiletries, warm homes and presents from Santa.
Staff at Kingdom took part in fundraising raffles and raised £720 which was used to purchase toys for children of all ages. An additional £500 cash donation was made thanks to a grant from Kingdom’s Community Initiatives Fund.
Leigh Shearer, Customer Service Team Leader at Kingdom headed up the fundraising efforts and said, “We’re really proud to support the Cottage Family Centre Christmas Toy Appeal. It’s estimated that the Centre will receive over 2,000 referrals this year with the pressures of the cost of living crisis and we’re delighted to support the Appeal to make sure families can enjoy the festive period”.
Kingdom’s Head of Governance Calum Kippen, who is responsible for administering the Community Initiatives Fund said, “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to use our Community Initiatives Fund to help support the incredible work being done by the Cottage Family Centre. Through the fund we can consider supporting projects that deliver a community benefit in the areas where we operate. We will consider applications from a wide variety of sources including tenants, residents groups, community clubs and voluntary organisations.”
Kingdom Housing Association’s mission is to provide More Than A Home and will support appropriate causes through the Community Initiatives Fund that further their strategic objectives. Eligible applications can be submitted using the form in the Community Initiatives Policy. There’s more information here on Kingdom’s website.
