Economic recovery at risk as Covid concerns curtail business growth
The Scottish Chambers of Commerce Quarterly Economic Indicator, in association with the Fraser of Allender Institute, for the final quarter of 2021 have been published.

The survey results reflect the business outlook prior to the emergence of the Omicron variant, which has led to fresh restrictions on the retail, hospitality, leisure and culture sectors.
Mairi Spowage, Director of Fraser of Allender Institute, highlights that there are early signs that Scotland's recovery is lagging behind that of the rest of the UK, despite optimism in the resilience of the economy.
Stephen Leckie, President of Scottish Chambers of Commerce, recognises that inflation, suppressed exports and skills shortages are risks to economic recovery.
