Mentors in Work
Mentors in Work (MiW) is an exciting new Fife Voluntary Action project, funded by Fife Council’s Cowdenbeath Area Committee and Fife Health and Wellbeing Alliance. The project will complement the work of Fife Employability and Training Consortium (Fife-ETC), providing extra in-work support to a small number of their clients.
Mentors in Work aims to support individuals who have either just entered employment for the first time or secured paid work after a prolonged period of unemployment. Volunteer Mentors are matched with a mentee and will then go on to meet and discuss ongoing issues/questions affecting the mentee at work. The Mentor’s role will be to provide practical advice and support to their mentee through informal coaching on a one-to-one, regular and agreed basis, in order to help them to sustain employment. Initially, Mentors in Work will be piloted in the Cowdenbeath area, and mentees must live in the locality but can have found employment out with the area.
Mentors in Work is now actively recruiting Volunteer Mentors and for an informal chat, please contact Kathy Hamilton, Mentors in Work Co-ordinator, on 0800 389 6046 or e-mail [email protected]
