Pettycur Bay Holiday Park Bidding to Win Two Awards

14th October 2025

Ahead of the Courier Business Awards Dinner on 24th October at The Apex in Dundee, in which they are nominated in not one, but two categories, Tommy and Steven Wallace from Pettycur Bay Holiday Park in Kinghorn have attended the pre-awards drinks reception.

Designed as a more casual affair for those nominated to network and chat to other businesses involved with the Awards, the event was held last Thursday at The Vision Building in Dundee.

Celebrating enterprises in Fife, Tayside and Stirling for the last decade, the Awards scheme has recognised companies of all sizes, including sole traders, established firms, family businesses and first-time entrepreneurs.

Family run over forty years by the Walace family, Pettycur Bay Holiday Park has the 4-star Bay Hotel, Horizons restaurant & Waterfront Bar, and the Images Entertainment Suite, included within its portfolio. It’s been nominated in two categories- Best Family Business, and in the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality category.

Commenting on the Awards scheme, Tommy Wallace said: “It has been a really useful exercise to come along to the pre-awards drinks reception. Everyone has been so friendly and forthcoming about their businesses, and the various nominations they have achieved. It certainly means that on the awards night itself, we will see several familiar faces, and be ready to mingle more, especially once the formalities of the night are over.”

“We are really pleased to be finalists in two categories. It’s very much a team effort by us all at Pettycur Bay Holiday Park. We would be absolutely delighted to win something on the night. It’s not long now until we find out!”

Pettycur Bay Holiday Park has grown steadily from an initial 170 caravans, to over 600. The business is now onto its third generation here, with Steven Wallace, Tommy’s nephew, and his brother Alan’s son, having been involved in the business for many years now.

“We’re busy gearing up for both Halloween, and the festive season,” said Tommy. “In our plans for next year, is a fantastic new self-catering development aimed at family groups wanting to stay together. Ideal if you are golfing, attending a wedding, or just want a multi generational short break. We can’t wait to reveal more about this.”
