Pettycur Bay Holiday Park Brings Home Prize of Fife's Best Family Business in the 2025 Courier Business Awards
Pettycur Bay Holiday Park in Kinghorn is celebrating being named Fife's Best Family Business at the Courier Business Awards 2025, which were held last Friday at the Apex City Quay Hotel in Dundee.
More than 750 guests attended the award ceremony which were held in partnership with Henderson Loggie. This year's event was hosted by BBC broadcaster Jason Mohammed.
Having entered two award categories, Best Family Business, and Best Leisure, Hospitality & Tourism Business, the Holiday Park, was absolutely thrilled to be named Best Family Business in Fife, in the award category sponsored by Thornton Solicitors.
Under the ownership of the Wallace family, it’s onto its third generation. The family also own The Bay Hotel which is part of Pettycur Bay Holiday Park. The Old Manor Hotel in Lundin Links is additionally part of the portfolio, as are two other caravan parks in Fife.
Director of Pettycur Bay Holiday Park, Tommy Wallace, said: “We've been doing this for over forty years, and have strong family values. Fife is a very good place to do business. We started up with a caravan park with 107 caravans, and now have 600 caravans. We have another two caravan parks, along with two hotels, so we've expanded quite a bit.”
“It’s been a fantastic experience to attend this awards night, and we're absolutely delighted to be walking away with this prize and bringing it back to Fife’s “Sunshine Coast”. It’s for the whole team. We will be celebrating this achievement for a good while yet!”
Asked if he was pleased to have taken the plunge, and entered the awards, Tommy said: “It’s always daunting to put yourself up against other businesses, everyone who has entered has done so well in highlighting what they do, but I think we do certainly have something very special at Pettycur Bay Holiday Park, which has been recognised by the Judges. We are very grateful.”
A fantastic networking opportunity for businesses of all sizes and sectors across Tayside, Fife and Stirling, the Courier Business Awards celebrate the very best these areas of Scotland have to offer in terms of entrepreneurship.
