Scottish Government issues guidance for hospitality and tourism sector and reviews current 2m social distancing rule
Having previously announced 15th July as an indicative date for the partial re-opening of the tourism and hospitality sector, the Scottish Government has now published guidance to allow businesses to plan how they can safely re-open. The Government’s checkliist includes instructions on physical distancing, hygiene, cleaning and additional staff safety measures.
While the sector has welcomed the announcement that it may be able to re-open in July, it is, of course, still deeply concerned about its ability to do so profitably while the current 2 metre social distancing rule remains in place. The First Minister has announced a review of the 2 metre provision in light of the latest scientific evidence and the outcome of the review is expected to be announced before the planned July re-start.
