Shedden's Luck Runs Out After Stunning Podium Drive but Wins David Leslie Fastest Lap Award

10th August 2026

Home hero Gordon Shedden took a hard-fought podium in race one of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship today at Knockhill chasing the Cataclean Plato Racing teammates of Adam Morgan and Daniel Rowbottom who recorded Jason Plato's team's first ever BTCC race win and runner-up spot. Shedden had championship leader Ashley Sutton on his tail for most of the race with a late Safety Car adding to the pressure to take home the coveted 3rd place podium spot, much to the adulation of the Scottish crowd.
Ashley Sutton further cemented his grip on the overall title challenge with an overall race win in race two with Tom Chilton taking the top step in the final race of the day.
Glasgow based driver Dexter Paterson had one of his best days racing of 2026 securing the Independents Award.
The next event at Knockhill is a car race meeting next weekend on the 15th & 16th of August with a Caterham Sports Car Festival featuring four championships of the Caterham championships plus local classes from the Knockhill and Scottish Motorsports Clubs. Spectators can enjoy a 50% discount by using the code CATERHAM26 for the racing next weekend.
