St Andrews Hotel Apprentice Challange
In June and July this year, we were delighted to host an Apprentice Challenge for two hotels in St Andrews. The Old Course Hotel and Hotel du Vin both took up the challenge.
This challenge is loosely based on Lord Sugar’s Apprentice, where staffs from both hotels were tasked with running our charity shop in Kirkcaldy for the day.
Points were given for In Store Display, Absolutely Fabulous Event, to encourage customers through the door as well as Blag for Bethany which involved offering tea and cakes to customers as they came through the door.
Both hotels were amazing, with Hotel du Vin offering customers a taste of Paris and the Old Course Hotel offering the tastes of a Summer Garden Party.
Everyone had a great day, with customers enjoying something a little different in our shop.
At the end of the Event, the Apprentices were invited to the Boardroom which was held in the Rusacks Hotel, St Andrews. We were delighted to have David Cochrane from Hit Scotland playing a fantastic Lord Sugar. David asked lots of questions especially about the Project Manager, who was responsible for delegating duties to the Apprentices.
The winning Team, who were awarded the Claret Jug was the Old Course Hotel, and the losers, who were fired, were Hotel du Vin.
A huge thank you to both hotels who took part in this challenge, and who all seemed to have a fantastic day.
We look forward to another amazing challenge next year and you never know, Hotel du Vin might get their own back!!!!!!!
