Supply Chain Event to Highlight Contract Opportunities on Fife Projects
The highly successful Meet the Buyer event series is returning to Fife next week, to highlight a range of contract opportunities available as part of the Dunfermline Learning Campus (DLC) and Westfield Energy Centre projects.
Under the title ‘Meet the Contractor’, the in-person event will take place at Carnegie Conference Centre on Thursday 28th April 2022 and is being supported by Fife Council, hub East Central Scotland, Hitachi Zosen Inova (HZI) and the Supplier Development Programme.
On the day, local businesses and trades will have the chance to hear about several supply chain opportunities. Teams from Dunfermline Learning Campus and HZI, the project manager for Westfield Energy Centre in Kinglassie, will give an insight into each of the projects, discuss contract opportunities, and answer any questions local businesses may have.
Amanda Wright, Community Benefits and Social Value Manager, hub East Central Scotland, said:
“hub East Central Scotland is committed to working with local businesses within our communities to ensure that they have the best possible opportunity to bid on our projects. It is our priority that wherever possible our projects are delivered by local businesses that employ local people. There are a wide range of opportunities available on these projects for every size of business and we look forward to supporting them at the event with advice and information to help them succeed.”
Pamela Stevenson, Service Manager, Economic Development, Business and Employability at Fife Council, commented:
“Our successful local authority-led Supplier Development Programme will assist in the delivery of Meet the Contractor in a bid to create a host of supply chain opportunities available to local businesses as part of two major development projects planned for Fife – Dunfermline Learning Campus and Westfield Energy Centre.
“Local businesses benefit from events like these. Meeting procurement teams in person is invaluable for securing contracts, whilst supporting the local economy. I wish the event every success!”
