Wendy Chamberlain MP Meets Fife Business Leaders to Discuss Local Economic Growth
Wendy Chamberlain, MP for North East Fife, joined Fife area MPs and business representatives from across the region at the latest Fife Chamber of Commerce roundtable to explore how to boost economic growth and support employers locally.
The Fife Chamber of Commerce has been at the heart of the region’s business community for more than two centuries, helping companies to connect, collaborate, and thrive. Its regular roundtables give local entrepreneurs and employers a direct opportunity to raise issues with policymakers and highlight what they need to grow and succeed.
The discussion on Friday 14 November brought together businesses from a wide range of sectors. Participants explored challenges around skills shortages, planning processes, workforce wellbeing, and the broader economic pressures facing local firms. The session also allowed employers to share success stories and identify new areas for partnership and investment across Fife.
Wendy Chamberlain MP said:
“Fife’s businesses are central to the strength of our local economy, and meeting directly with employers is one of the most important parts of my role.
“The roundtable was a valuable opportunity to hear first-hand the pressures companies are facing, but also the ambition and innovation that exist across our region.
“Whether its addressing skills needs, ensuring planning processes work effectively, or supporting workforce wellbeing, these conversations help inform the work I take forward in Westminster.
“I am committed to ensuring that the voices of employers across North East Fife are heard. Regular engagement like this is essential if we want to strengthen our local economy and create opportunities for people across our communities.
“I am grateful to the Chamber and all the businesses who took the time to contribute, and I look forward to continuing this constructive dialogue.”
Fife Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Stephen said:
“The members of Fife Chamber of Commerce who attended the meeting were able to bring the real life challenges they and their businesses face from decisions which are made at Westminster to the attention of the Fife MPs.
“The hope on the part of the Chamber is that these meetings will become a regular fixture to allow the business community of Fife to be well represented by our MPs.”
