New Year New Premises for FEAT

Mental health charity, Fife Employment Access Trust (FEAT), will move out of their premises in Glenrothes this week after twenty years in the town. The charity, which helps people who have had experience of mental health issues into employment, will move into Silverburn Park near Leven with many of their services now being based outdoors on online. The charity has been leading the regeneration of the 27-acre public park since 2014, formally taking on the lease in 2019.

Self Assessment customers use online tax payment plans to help spread the cost of £69 million

Almost 25,000 Self Assessment customers have set up an online payment plan to manage their tax liabilities in up to 12 monthly instalments, totalling £69.1 million, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has revealed today.

£10m boost for Digital Support Grants: available now on first-come, first-served basis

Digital Support Grants are provided by the Scottish Government to help businesses to do more digitally and online.  VAT registered businesses can apply for up to £25000, while non-VAT registered organisations can apply for up to £6000.  The Grant recipient must pay 25% of the cost of the project directly: the remainder comes from the Grant.   The Scottish Government is putting an extra £10m into the programme to fund additional projects: it will be approved and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Scottish Government announces additional grants for closed businesses

Retail, hospitality and leisure businesses that have been ordered to close are to receive additional, one-off grants.  These will be paid in addition to the 4-weekly grants that they already receive via the Strategic Business Framework Fund (SBFF).  Like the SBFF, the one-of grants will be based on the size of the company measured by the rateable value of its business premises.

Maggie’s Virtual Elf Family Fun Run boosted by matched donation

On Sunday 6th December dozens of Christmas Elves took to the streets of Fife to help spread a little festive cheer, all with the goal of supporting Maggie’s. They walked, ran, hopped, skipped and jumped their way around routes of their choice as part of the charities first ever Virtual Elf Family Fun Run.
