Short Term Lets Consultation

On 19th January 2022, the Scottish Government passed the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 (Licensing of Short-term Lets) Order 2022. The council are currently in the process of preparing the licensing scheme. This is due to be launched no later than 1st October 2022.

Please note: From 1st October 2022, new hosts must not operate without a licence. All existing hosts/operators have until 1st April 2023 to apply for a provisional licence with short-term lets and are required to be fully licensed by the 1st July 2024.

Edinburgh Airport is toasting the arrival of Fever-Tree's new bar and cafe which could be just the tonic for passengers seeking a pre-flight refreshment.

The 51-seater bar, which features an eye-catching 'tree canopy', is the latest addition to our comprehensive food and beverage offering at EDI. The brand expects to serve up more than 40,000 mixed drinks to domestic and international passengers in their first year after putting down roots at the airport.

Kingdom Books joins in a national day of tea parties for Guide Dogs to raise life changing funds for the charity!

Every Spring, Guide Dogs supporters pop the kettle on, hang their puppy bunting, decorate their cupcakes and enjoy a cuppa with friends, neighbours and colleagues to raise funds to support people living with sight loss across the UK.

This year, Kingdom Books is joining the effort by hosting a Tea Party to raise life changing funds for Guide Dogs UK!

The event will see two very special guests making an appearance to talk to everyone about the importance of the work that Guide Dog's do, and one of them has four legs and a very fluffy tail!

Fife College student named Apprentice of the Year

A Fife College automotive engineering student has been named Apprentice of the Year by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).

Ian Robertson, from Cupar, was named joint winner of the prestigious award at the IMI’s Annual Awards in London.

Recognised for excelling in his Modern Apprenticeship at the College, Ian was also commended for overcoming the challenges of learning in lockdown and demonstrating outstanding drive and enthusiasm.
