Fife College Awarded Fujitsu Funding To Create Innovative Technology Hub

Fife College is one of twenty colleges and universities in the UK to be selected to become a Fujitsu Ambassador and receive funding to create a technology hub to benefit students.

Fujitsu announced the list of new ambassadors at a special event held at the Bett 2016 Conference held in London recently.

Fife College was chosen to be an ambassador for its commitment and desire to support and shape future generations of students by inspiring them to take-up technology subjects.

Dunfermline business on track to cut transport emissions by 70 percent, urges others to Pledge

A Dunfermline business is once again leading the way in energy efficiency after becoming one of the first to gain its Resource Efficient Scotland Silver Pledge certificate.

Managed IT Experts, an IT solutions consultancy, was the first business in Scotland to achieve a Bronze Resource Efficiency Pledge when the programme was launched in 2014.

To get Bronze, the IT firm committed to developing an environmental policy, implementing measures to reduce energy consumption by five percent and reducing their business travel.

Queen Street Tunnel to Close for 20 Weeks

The ScotRail Alliance recently launched a major publicity campaign to ensure that customers have all the information they need to keep moving when Queen Street tunnel closes for twenty weeks between 20 March and 8 August 2016.

The £60m project will renew nearly 2km of ageing slab-track through Queen Street tunnel and enable faster, longer, greener trains to operate on Scotland’s rail network from later this year.

Fife will be taking part in the roadshow in the form of an informal business breakfast which will take place at BEST WESTERN PLUS Keavil House Hotel, on March 16th 2016 

The morning will start  with arrival and breakfast rolls from 8:30am and close at 11am

Dundee Airport announces new route to Amsterdam

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has confirmed that it intends to launch a new service from Dundee to Amsterdam Schiphol.

A considerable amount of work has gone into securing this route, with Flybe, HIAL, Dundee City Council and Transport Scotland working in partnership to deliver the new service, Dundee’s first ever international route.
